SCRIPTURE + REFLECTION
Forgiveness and Freedom
Forgiveness is not about denying the pain or excusing what happened. It is about releasing the burden to God.
Forgiveness is a step toward freedom and healing.
Colossians 3:13 (NIV)
Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
Reflection questions
Who do I need to forgive, whether a person, a parent, or even myself?
What would it feel like to release this pain to God and invite Him to begin restoring me?
What would it feel like to release this pain to God and invite Him to begin restoring me?
God Restores What Was Lost
You may feel like you lost years to pain, fear, or silence. But God is a redeemer. He does not just heal. He restores.
He can bring beauty from the most broken parts of your story.
Joel 2:25 (ESV)
I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten.
Reflection questions
What do I feel was lost or stolen in my childhood?
Where do I sense God beginning to restore my joy, voice, or identity?
Where do I sense God beginning to restore my joy, voice, or identity?
PRAYERS
Opening prayer
Father, I come to You with an open heart. As I fast today, search me and bring to the surface what needs to be released.
Give me grace to forgive as You have forgiven me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Main prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, I choose forgiveness. I release the burden of what happened and I place it into Your hands.
I forgive those who hurt me, those who failed to protect me, and those who wounded my heart.
And Lord, where I have held unforgiveness toward myself, I release that too. I renounce self blame, shame, and guilt.
Teach me that forgiveness is a process, and strengthen me to keep releasing pain when it rises again.
Heal the places where bitterness has lived, and replace it with peace.
As I forgive, I ask You to restore what was lost. Redeem the years that pain tried to steal.
Restore my joy, my voice, my identity, and my hope. Make beauty from the broken places of my story.
Use my healing as hope for someone else. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Closing prayer
Father, thank You for meeting me today. Help me walk out forgiveness with consistency and courage.
Keep restoring me day by day, and let Your peace guard my heart and mind. In Jesus’ name, amen.
